TRANSPORT
The main transport through-passages in Klimovichi district in the beginning of the century were:
- Warsaw highway crossing the district from east on west. There were three stations on the district's territory (Hotovizhskaja, Zvenchatka, Shumovka). They maintained 50 versts of the road. - Military-and-trade and mail road from Klimovichi to Surazh through Lozovitsa, Rodnya, and Kostjukovichi up to Klenovka- 65 versts 105 sazhens. - Mail road from Kostjukovichi to Hotimsk through Prusin, Vishenki, Ganovka, Bezezki and Bokhany stations up to the Smolensk province border - 36 versts. - Trade road from Hotimsk to Mstislavl - 33 versts. - Trade road from Rudnya through Miloslavichi to Zvenchatka station up to the Moscow-Warsaw highway - 36 versts.
- From Klimovichi through Svirel up to Zvenchatka - 21 versts.- From Klimovichi through Krasavichi up to Cherikov district - 17 versts. - Military and trade road from Klimovichi up to Hotovizh station - 13 versts. - Trade road from Klimovichi to Krichev up to Moscow-Warsaw highway. - From Hotovizh to Petrovichi - 47 versts 221 sazhens. - From Zabelyshev through Petrovichi up to Mstislavski district - 61 versts 84 sazhens. Railway The railway station in Klimovichi was opened on May 1, 1921. Now Orsha-Unecha and Mogilev-Roslavl railways go through the district's territory. Highways connect the district's center with the towns of Kostjukovichi, Krichev, Hotimsk. There is also an oil pipeline of Unecha-Polotsk (Druzhba oil pipeline ramification). |
